Get Your Food to Sell Itself With Food Packaging!
Food Packaging – The Difference Between Tempting and Terrible!
Next time you are in supermarket pop you head into the confectionery isle. Chances are the shelves will be overflowing with color – but why is this the case? The simple answer to this is because of food packaging. There is very fierce competition in the confectionery market and if you don’t have brightly colored food packaging you’re going to get left behind.
This is only one of the reasons why food packaging is a critical part of any food product. Having great food is one thing but most people won’t buy it unless it is packaged nicely as well. Good food packaging is the key to having people buy and try your food.
Visual appeal isn’t the only reason you should have good food packaging. Most products put the features of the food on the packaging as well. They list things like 10% more, 95% fat free or high in vitamin B. And like them you should sell your customers the benefits of buying your food products over your competitors.
However, benefits are not the only reason you should organize food packaging. In most countries, food packaging is a legal requirement before being able to sell it. Food content, ingredients and nutritional facts all need to be listed on the food packaging if it is to be sold in stores. Any warnings about the contents of the food also need to be highlighted on the packaging as well. This allows people who have specific allergies or dietary requirements to make decisions based off the food content.
Another great benefit of food packaging is that is also protects the contents. Once wrapped up, it makes it much more suitable for transporting and stacking on shelves while keeping it presentable. Once through the whole transportation process, the food will still look as good as the day it left your production line.
There is also the question of the right material for your food packaging. Can it be boxed? Would a plastic sachet be better? Secondly, does it need to be refrigerated or kept warm?
Food packaging is key to making sure your food arrives intact and presentable at the end of the line which is why you need to be extra careful when selecting the right packaging.
