A Total Gym XLS Is Actually A Very Good Deal Even If It Seems Expensive At First

Recently I was working out how much money I actually spend on my gym membership for both me and my wife and I was astonished at the cost. Over the last two years I’ve actually spent more than 00 on our gym memberships! I then realized that if we were members at the gym for a full decade that we would spend over 000 and that’s even if the price doesn’t go up which it likely will!

I then started to think about how much time we waste driving to and from the gym. It takes us 20 minutes to drive to the gym and of course another 20 minutes to drive back. Instead of sitting in a car for those 40 minutes we should instead be spending that time doing something constructive. And this inconvenient drive to the gym is regularly used as a reason not to work out. It’s also economically, and environmentally for that matter, important to consider the amount of gas spent on these trips to and from the gym!

Considering all of these things it became clear to me that a home gym such as the Total Gym XLS was a really good idea despite the fact that they may seem really expensive at first. For example if I spend 00 on it and use it for 10 years, I’ve actually saved ,500 in comparison to a gym membership and that’s not even considering all of the saved gas money!

And with a home gym I no longer have any excuse not to work out so that leads to more working out which of course leads to a higher fitness level. I actually like to do my weight lifting with my Total Gym equipment and then do my cardio exercise with my Wii Fit game or simply taking a jog outside. And yes the Wii Fit video game is really a lot of fun, I highly recommend it.

While I’m on the top of fitness I do want to mention that weight lifting and cardio exercise is not enough on it’s own if you are trying to lose weight fast. It’s a very good idea to begin a diet plan too. I don’t believe in the fairy tale that you can lose weight quickly by doing just exercise or by doing just dieting, you need to do both. And the diet that I recommend is called The Day Off Diet. It’s so highly recommended because it’s very easy to follow and it will definitely help you to lose weight fast.

Beginning Your Treadmill Search

There are many benefits to owning a true treadmill in your own home. Monthly gym fees can be expensive, and you might not get a chance to visit all the time, so a home gym of your own really makes sense. It should be your first purchase because it gives you cardiovascular exercise such as walking, jogging, or running. Before you decide which treadmill to buy, you should have a vague idea of what kind of treadmill you’d like, and how much you want to spend.

For those who are looking for a basic treadmill for walking, you need not spend a fortune to get a treadmill that will work well for you. When you use a treadmill for walking only, you are not going to wear it out as much as when you run or jog on it, so a cheaper treadmill will be a good choice. But if you plan to jog or run extensively on your treadmill, you’ll probably want to spend a bit more on a higher quality treadmill with a bigger price tag.

Treadmills have numerous components that can run the gamut from expensive and high quality, to inferior and inexpensive. The motor is the most important part of the treadmill. This part takes most of the wear and if it is not powerful or quality enough it might burn out. A treadmill motor without enough power is the one main reason that treadmills wear out before their time, so be sure to buy the best motor you can afford. The motors in treadmills are rated by two measurements: continuous duty horsepower and peak horsepower. Whereas most treadmills’ peak horsepower ratings are quoted to give them great looking specs on paper in treadmill reviews, it is the continuous duty horsepower rating that should be noted. A high continuous horsepower rating means the machine will last much longer as the motor will have more power.

Also be sure to look at the belt. You need a high quality belt because it is the piece of rubber that you make contact with. The cheaper, less solid treadmills might appear nice on the exterior, but the belt almost always ends up wearing down from lack of thickness later on after purchasing it. You will want to purchase a 2 ply or greater belt, greater if possible, if you want to get the most out of your treadmill. A thick belt will not wear out quickly and will not need to be replaced for a long while, these belts can be expensive after all.

It’s not necessary to spend a lot to get a good quality treadmill, but just a few hundred more dollars spent might mean a much higher quality machine. Always set your budget before you go, but realize that if your budget is too low, you may be forced to buy a machine that is of poor quality and will wear out in a short time.

Some Tips When Buying Home Fitness Gyms

An advantage of having your own home fitness gym is the convenience of having your own workout place at home so that you don’t have to go outside to a gym. You can work out in your own home, in private. This often appeals to people who are not comfortable exercising in the company of strangers. Before purchasing a home gym there are some things to take into account to make sure you choose wisely.

Things to Take into Consideration

  • Is there a large enough area in your home for one? Home fitness gyms can be very large so you need plenty of space and a firm base to place it on.
  • How much do you want to pay? Home fitness gyms can vary from about $500 for a small basic gym to more than $5000 for a comprehensive, multi-gym.
  • Are you going to choose a free weight system or a resistance system that uses cables, weights or rods?

Advantages and Disadvantages of Home Fitness Gyms

With a home gym you can, of course, work out in private in your own home, the gym is always available and you won’t have to wait until someone else finishes before you can do your training. Once you have paid for it you won’t have to pay out fees as you would every month in the club and it is always available. You should also take into account the disadvantages. Initially some home gyms can be very difficult to set up and they are going to take up a substantial space in your home. It may be easier to stay motivated at a gym, among other people or with a trainer than at home!

Choosing a Home Fitness Gym

The most important consideration, in our opinion, is how well made the unit is. It will do you no good if you buy a cheap, badly made gym that will fall apart soon and provide a poor workout. This won’t save money over time. Look out for a well made gym that uses eleven or twelve gauge steel. In better quality gyms the joints are welded rather than bolted and they use strong, heavy duty tubing. Look for a higher quality home fitness gym with a good warranty, some have a lifetime warranty on the frame, and you should get at least three years warranty on moving parts and upholstery.

If you have found a quality home gym at a good price now make sure it is easy to use and adjust for different exercises. Changing the resistance can be awkward on some gyms so try to find one that makes this easier.  If it is too awkward to do this or too time consuming it can easily put you off your workout completely. A home fitness gym needs to be comfortable in use with well padded benches that are easy to keep clean. This is also for safety reasons as you need good padding on leg presses and seats, and solid durable handgrips to prevent injury and blisters.

Conclusion

If you are buying a fitness equipment home gym don’t rush out and buy the first one you see. Find out all you can about how it works and possibly try it out at the store or a local gym. A home gym is not cheap and you don’t want to make a mistake with your purchase.

Home Fitness Gym Options – Get That Six Pack In Your Home

Today’s fitness gym is a far cry from the older work out facilities from years ago. Never before have you had the ability to choose from so many different options in this particular realm. One consideration that you want to make is whether you want to visit a fitness gym on site or whether you want to build one of your own in your home.

As prices come down and the general understanding of keeping good health increases the home gym market has grown. There are many wonderful options in workout equipment that you can order, have delivered and assembled in little time at all. You can easily be well on your way to a healthier lifestyle with your home fitness gym.

However do home gyms really fit your needs? There are social and motivation advantages that some people enjoy when visiting local gyms. The first is motivation. I love to meet with my friends for a long workout at the gym followed by a quick swim. I like having a membership to a fitness gym for the social aspects but there are other benefits as well.

I would love to have a fitness gym in my own home, filled with my favorite workout equipment. However, in my small house the floor space has limited my options. I just can’t fit everything I need into the little room that I have. I’m lucky that I can fit my clothes in my apartment.

The space issue is a considerable factor in my case but others may have plenty of room to spare. The home fitness gym is the perfect option for anyone who wants to get in a quick workout in as little time as possible. Consider how much time you will save traveling to the local fitness gym if you have one already set up in your own home.

Then there is the cost of membership. Sure, buying gym equipment online for your home gym will cost a pretty penny. If you don’t have the cash to spare, then you may want to opt for a more affordable option, a membership to a local fitness gym. You have your choice of many different pieces of equipment and the fees are usually pretty easy on the wallet.

Still wondering which way to go when it comes to choosing between a home workout space and a membership to a local fitness gym? Try looking online for more information on your options. No one knows? You may find that your very own fitness gym is closer than you think.

Fitness Equipment In The Home

One of the times I hated myself was when I was obese — it really was very awful for me.  Instead of getting miserable and depressed I set out to work on getting back to shape.  Investing in and using fitness equipment helped me to loose those pounds of fat.  If I could get rid of my fat using fitness equipment, you can too.

It’s really good not to be among other Americans and many in the Western world that have given up on obesity.  With the few number of Americans that commit to keeping fit, it’s not surprising that so many are fat.  Any man, woman or child that commits to keeping fit on a daily basis can win the battle against obesity.

Are you wondering if it’s as simple to get rid of fat as it is to spend little time daily using fitness exercise?  Yes!

As the name implies, fitness equipment are to help you keep fit; use them as you should and you will be fit. As the name implies, there are now home fitness equipment that can be used from the comfort of our homes — say goodbye to the stress of going to the gym.

Many are scared stiff because of the costs of fitness equipment.  If you really want to keep in shape and be healthy, the cost of home fitness equipment shouldn’t bother you.

Take a good look at those who are stronger and healthier — you will notice that they also use some form of fitness equipment to keep fit.  If you want to begin and end each day with vigor and vitality, using fitness equipment on a constant basis can help.

It doesn’t matter the amount you will invest in getting the right home fitness equipment, it will help spouse and kids to keep fit.

Conclusively, you need to invest in getting your own fitness equipment — spend some time online to search for the right one for you.

Consider These Options For Your Home Gym

A quick search on Google will reveal hundreds of home gym options. The prices range from hundreds to thousands of dollars. But is it the price of your home gym that delivers you results?

Of course not! You are smart enough to know that a thousand dollar weight machine sitting in your home will get you trim and toned in a few months. Yet so many people act like this. They decide it is time to  work on their fitness and or weight and off they go. Yes, off to figure out which piece of equipment they want. It does not matter if it is treadmills, resistance exercise bands, stationary bikes, a Total Gym or a huge home fitness center.

No matter what piece of equipment you get you have to use it to get results. But what occurs so often is that you purchase the new equipment but only use it for a short time. Soon the new equipment is a decoration or a place to hang things. Then you feel guilty but soon you need your space back.

Sound familiar; if not then you are one of the rare few people who do not  go through this cycle during their lives.

One way to help overcome this is to come to an understanding that you can get toned and sexy with some very basic equipment. What about a jump rope for example. Are you able to jump rope for 10 minutes straight? Very simple equipment, very little space and yet you can do some excellent cardio work.

For another example, consider exercise resistance bands like Bodylastic, these bands are small, low cost and yet offer you with a great many options for resistance exercises. With resistance bands you can squat over 200 pounds in you kitchen or virtually anywhere you want. When you are done working out you simply place the bands in a small storage container in the closet with your jump rope.

Now even if you get side tracked and stop exercising, there is no large piece of equipment staring you in the face. Next time you get the desire to begin working out again you just simply locate that small bag on the shelf and start working out.

Now you have a great solution that fixes your home gym dilemmas. The great thing about this equipment is that it has low cost and it uses little space so you can keep it for many years to come using it when you choose. You will not have to get upset with yourself because you wasted lots of money again on some new notion to work out. Your workout gear is in the closet.
