2009: The Year of The Remastered Beatles!
It’s hard to believe that 2009 has definitely been the year of The Beatles. Many Beatles dreams came true this year because their music was finally remastered for release on CD.
The box set that has gained the most attention of hardcore Beatles fans is the mono box because it’s the first time that the original mono mixes have ever been released on CD.
Purist Beatles fans feel strongly that the mono mixes are really the way the band’s music was originally meant to be listened to and these “purists” have good reason to believe that. It was the mono mixes that most people listened to back in the 1960s and it was the mono mixes that the band and it’s producers spent the most time perfecting. In comparison the stereo mixes were little more than an afterthought.
The Remastered Beatles Stereo Box Set
This box set has been the most popular Beatles release of 2009. It’s been a huge seller and for a very good reason. It contains the band’s entire 1960s catalog in high quality remastered stereo. These remastered Beatles albums sound absolutely spectacular (these discs are far superior to the 1987 mastered Beatles CDs you likely have at the moment.)
The really big improvement in comparison to the old CDs are heard in the way Paul’s bass cuts through the mix more so than ever before and Ringo’s drums sound far better too. It’s also great to be able to hear each individual vocal part more clearly which we can do with these new remasters.
This Beatles USB is a digital version of The Beatles in Stereo Box Set. It includes both high quality mp3 files and audophile “better than CD” 24bit FLAC files. Along with the obvious audio component, this USB memory stick also includes all of the visual parts of the box set such as the thirteen mini documentaries, the extended liner notes, and the unpublished photographs.
The USB memory stick is compatible with both PC and Mac computers. The mp3s should work with no issues with your mp3 player (whether you own a Zune, an iPod, or a lesser known mp3 player.)
Thriller (1982) – Track By Track
“Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’” – This one is one of four songs on Thriller that “The King of Pop” got songwriting credits for. Michael Jackson wasn’t only a great singer & dancer, he was also a excellent songwriter.
“Baby Be Mine” – To get an idea of how awesome this album is consider this: “Baby Be Mine” is one of only two songs that wasn’t a hit single. This is a pretty great tune to be one of just two songs not released as a single.
“The Girl Is Mine” – The lyrics are cheesy as hell but I think that’s part of the song’s charm. This is a tune I’ve started to enjoy more and more over time. The interaction between Michael & Beatles legend Paul McCartney is pretty darn sweet. This is another one of the Jackson penned songs.
“Thriller” – At this point the music video is probably more famous than the song which I think is kind of unfortunate. It’s a brilliant song and MJ’s incredible vocals really put it over the top. I don’t think any other artist could have really made this song work.
“Beat It” – Eddie Van Halen features on this “rock” song. This is the kind of thing that Jackson doesn’t get enough credit for, he was really pushing the envelope of what pop music could be. Jackson wrote “Beat It.”
“Billie Jean” – The perfect example of a Michael Jackson song. If you are ever questioning MJ’s talent remember that he wrote and performed this song.
“Human Nature” – This is one of the Thriller songs I enjoy most lately because it hasn’t been overplayed like many of the others on Thriller. It’s a beautiful song.
“P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)” – I’m not sure any song makes me want to dance more than “PYT.” Much like “Human Nature,” this is one of my favorites partly because it hasn’t been overplayed.
“The Lady In My Life” – The least good song on the album? Most likely. Still pretty darn great? Definitely.
Does reading about Thriller makes you want to learn how to sing yourself? Well, I won’t guarantee you that you will be able to sing just like Michael (who can?) but you can significantly improve your voice with Singorama online singing lessons which are 100% satisfaction guaranteed.
Learn to Play Blues on the Guitar
Learning the play the guitar was always a dream for me and I’ve found the place to make that dream come true Jamorama .
I grew up listening to my father play an acoustic guitar, he learned by ear and played the blues, some rock, a lot of country and some gospel. I’m not sure that he knew how to teach me because everything he learned was by hearing and playing.
Teacher, teacher where can I find a teacher that can give the lessons I wanted.
I was looking for someone to teach me how to play chords, give me tips, and tutor me.{ I heard about Fender guitars and Gibson electric and acoustic guitars, and they all sounded great, but I didn’t need a name guitar just something simple}.
Who do you think is the greatest, Eric Clapton, the Eagles, or Duane Eddy the list of great guitarists goes on and on. Just like Jerry Lee Lewis, he’s one of a kind at what he does (can he ever play the piano), but I would never be able to do that.
Do you feel that way? Have you given up trying to learn something you’ve always wanted to do? Don’t do that.
If the guitar is something you want to learn to play, well do it!!!
By the way did you know Waylon Jennings was Buddy Holly’s bass player? Piece of trivia..
This is the one, the one that can teach us all. It’s called Jamorama, put together by a guy named Ben Edwards.
Check it out, you will be glad you did Jamorama. Nothing to lose as he has a 100% 8 week money back guarantee with no hassle refund.
Ben will be your teacher with his special techniques; he’ll teach you how to play virtually any guitar song you have ever heard. Whether you are a beginner or not you can use his tips, and tutorials. He says he can have you playing in 5 minutes, so put him to the test. He promises to teach you real skills with Jamorama.

Music That Appeals To Children
Youngsters love music and today there are so many kid songs made by gifted artists, it can be hard to select a favorite. Music is an excellent way to help children learn and interact with each other and it’s a wonderful way to have some great fun. Kid songs change by style and artist so your little one has a great number of options for his musical tastes.
One of the freshest bands that make a plethora of kid songs is the Laurie Berkner Band. This band is a fave among little ones across the U. S. . Laurie Berkner works in collaboration with her husband and a trusted chum to scribble and produce a great number of kid songs for your small one to enjoy.
This band offers a diverse portfolio of musical styles that are sure to meet any music lover’s tastes. The kid songs are appealing to kids and adults alike and the diverse sorts of musical styles the band uses are wonderful. Kids have a unique opportunity to get introduced to a variety of different kinds of music.
For example, the Laurie Berkner Band has created some songs that appeal to the blues. Some of my daughter’s favourite kid songs are drafted in the classic blues style. The band produced a lovable tune called I Know a Chicken that not only helps youngsters learn about animals and animal sounds. It also introduces them to the rhythmic blues tempo found in music from that genre. The song just about makes me think of a tune performed by the Muddy Waters Blues Band.
The Laurie Berkner Band also offers kid songs that have an island appeal. The song Under a Shady Tree has an excellent Reggae beat that is quickly recognized by any Bob Marley fan. This helps children gain a feeling for various types of music and it helps them understand that a place can be captured by a tune.
There are a lot of other bands that offer great kid songs but none match the Laurie Berkner Band. The favored kid’s channel, Noggin features this band in a number of shows and specials. These shows and specials are on the head of our house’s family viewing list.
My girl is looking forward to seeing what this interesting youngsters’s band has to supply next. I have to admit that I do, too. I didn’t think that kid songs could be so entertaining and academic.

Number Nine, Number Nine, Number Nine: 9/9/9 Is Beatles Day
September 9th, 2009 is a true holiday for Beatles fans because the Beatles remastered CD box sets are finally being released. The CD versions from 1987 are considered to an example of very poor mastering which is why Beatles fans have been wanting to hear these classic albums remastered for so long.
But the excitement from 9/9/9 doesn’t just come from the fact that the albums are being remastered for the first time since their original release on CD, it also comes from the mono box set that is being released on that day. This will actually be the first time ever that the mono mixes of some of these amazing Beatles albums will be available on compact disc.
So why should we care about such an outdated way of listening to music here in the 21st century? Mono was being phased out in the 1960s, why should we listen to mono mixes today? Sure a lot of people think that stereo is all you need because it’s the standard these days, but for those curious about the original intention of The Beatles and their production team the mono mixes are of great interest.
The mono mixes are what the band (along with George Martin & Geoff Emerick) were primarily focused on. The stereo mixes were done as an after thought with little (if any) input from the band, while the mono mixes were slaved over until they were just perfect. Because of this many feel that the original mono mix of an album such as Sgt. Pepper is the “true” mix of this legendary LP.
But there’s even more Beatles stuff for fans to get excited about coming out on 9/9/9, for gamers there’s the Beatles Rock Band game which looks awesome from the previews of it I’ve seen. You can play through The Beatles whole career from their beginnings in Liverpool through their final album, Abbey Road. The Beatles Rock Band instruments even look like the real Beatles instruments (check out Paul’s bass guitar!) And now for the first time with the Beatles Rock Band game, you can sing harmonies.
The Beatles Mono Box Set: The Beatles In Mono On CD On 9/9/9
Most People Listened To Music In Mono In The 1960s
It was not until the time of Let It Be & Abbey Road that the stereo mixes became The Beatles primary focus. Until then they were actually far more interested in the mono mixes because they were considered to be the “standard” at that time.
The Original Beatles Albums
You can make a great case that these Beatles original mono mix CDs represent The Beatles albums in their true form. These are the mixes that most people heard back in the 1960s. These are the mixes that made them the biggest band of all time. Hearing these albums in their original stereo mixes, even if they are poor mixes, is interesting to real Beatles fans.
The Mono Box Set Includes
- Please Please Me through The White Album in their original mono mixes.
- The original stereo mixes of Rubber Soul & Help!
- The Mono Masters compilation of the mono mixes of the band’s non album songs.
Where’s Their Final Three Albums?
These final three LPs were never mixed in mono because by 1969 stereo was the standard and mono mixes had been completely phased out.
Why Are Stereo Mixes For Two Albums Included?
The two albums included in stereo (Help! & Rubber Soul) were both released in 1965. Why is that relevant? Because that’s when the band first started to do these stereo mixes and they were very experimental. Because of that when the bands albums were first released on CD in the 1980s they decided against including these 1960s stereo mixes and created new stereo mixes instead. The original stereo mixes for these 1965 classic albums have never been on CD until this new mono box set.
For The First Time Ever The White Album Will Be Released In Mono In The US
One really cool thing about this box set is that it will actually be the first time that The White Album has ever been released in mono in the United States in any format. Why is that? In 1968 mono was already done in the United States so only the stereo version was the only one released. In the UK both the mono & stereo LPs were released.
The Beatles Remastered Mono & Stereo Box Sets
There are actually 2 Beatles box sets to be released on September 9th. A stereo box set & a mono box set. Both are necessary purchases by~essential for} real Beatles fanatics.
Be a Star By Serving The Music, Sing Backup
To sing backup, you must learn to serve the music, not yourself. The meaning of singing backup is to sing behind someone, not compete with them. You must be able to play a supporting position to the star and not feel left out if you want to sing backup.
Backup singing is more difficult than you might imagine. The ability to listen and be responsive is paramount is this type of singing. You must learn to breathe and begin and end your phrase as the main singer does. It may well be good to think of yourself as the singers shadow, never noticed but always present.
Hopefully you have some input or control over where you sit or stand on stage. See to it that you can see the singer at all times. If you cannot see the face of the singer your job will be difficult indeed. Learn to watch the singer at all times. If the singer decides to take another chorus or makes a mistake, you can follow them only if you are watching and aware. Keep your eyes on the singer. Often a singer may use a gesture such as a nod of the head to indicate where they are going. Learn their motions and watch out.
Learn to blend your phrasing to the will of the singer. If you are watching the singer you can start your line slightly after they start in order to blend properly. If you are watching the singer as you should, you can start your phrase quietly if you are not sure how loud they will be at any particular time. Do not pronounce consonants too hard at the start of a line. If you pronounce a consonant too hard and it is slightly off from the main singers phrase, it will be very noticeable and dissonant.
The same technique is to be applied to the ending of all phrases as well. As the singer approaches the end of a melody, gradually decrease your volume so you can avoid the embarrassment of ending after they do. If you follow these singing tips, watch, listen and blend in; you can be a professional backup singer in very short order.
Takamine Acoustic Left Hand And Electric Left Hand Oriented Guitars
When you talk about acoustic left hand guitars, the name Takamine immediately pops its head up. A guitar manufacturer based in Japan, the US distributor is Kaman Corporation. They are most known for their trademark pre-amp/EQ built into every model of A/E. This also applies to their acoustic left handed instruments as well.
Every single model of Takamine A/E can be specially made for left-handed players.
Among the many series of Takamine acoustic left handed guitars, there are two that stand out. One of these is the G series and encompasses a wide variety of acoustic electric guitar, left hand models included. Most of them feature a spruce top that is solid with nato sides and back. Not real sure what nato is, but I know that the instruments are spectacular.
If you are looking at value, the Takamine acoustic electric guitar for lefties is the best. The body style remains unaltered, whereas the competition has changed the body style for left handed players. The left handed guitar keeps a classic dreadnought and has a flat rear and molded sides. This creates a rich acoustic timber and keeps the guitar from slipping as you play.
The only change is that some of these electric left hand guitars have a cutaway and some dont. I prefer the single cutaway because it allows access to the higher register, giving the player a further range. Most of the models I looked at had a smaller scale neck with only 20 frets. The neck joins at the 14th and you have clear access to frets 15 through 20. That is especially crucial when you kick in the pre-amp and power up for leads or standout rhythm riffs.
Speaking of the pre-amp and EQ, the ones built in to every Takamine acoustic electric guitar left handed edition is exquisite. Most of the G series are made with Takamines TK4N electronics. This set up allows the musician to manually adjust the mid-range on the fly if needed and has a notch filter which is tunable.
Left-handed guitar players need guitars specially designed for left-handers to produce quality results, and many of the best electric guitars can be found at www.lefthandedguitarmall.com. This site is intended to help left-handed players find the guitars that they need, and if you’re a southpaw, you should visit the site without delay.
The Natural series of Takamine guitars also deserves mention. The Natural model is more expensive than the G series, and it comes with a solid cedar top and mahogany sides and rear. It is still an excellent value for its cost, because the quality of the wood is so high. The acoustic left-handed guitars produce excellent, clear tones, whether you buy an electric version or not. Takamine’s attention to detail really shows when you use light to medium steel strings.
I am unable to complete this one without speaking on Takamines Natural series. This looks like a greater upscale model from the G series and has a Mahogany back and sides with a solid cedar top. Yet, the Takamine Natural acoustic electric guitar left handed variant is a real value for your money.
Why Hasn’t God Healed Me Yet: Worshiping in the Midst of Pain
When is the best time to worship God? In great times, when you’re on top of the world? In mediocre times, when everything is going well? Or in hard times, when your life is crashing down around you? When illness takes away your health, when your family die, when you lose everything you treasure?
In the Bible, a man named Job in one day lost all his possessions, his employees were all killed and his childen died in a sudden accident. His first action is one we naturally do in painful times. He grieved for what he had lost. But his second action is so unlike how we respond to trials in our own lives. Even while grieving, he fell on his face and worshiped God. We become angry with God, we accuse Him of not loving or caring for us. We believe that God has turned His back on us, and so we turn away from God. Or we beg Him and swear that we’ll worship Him after He heals and restores us. We argue with Him that if He loves us, He should prove it by healing us and then we’ll finally stop sinning, start witnessing, etc.
Multiple times in the Bible, Jesus tells someone “your faith has healed you”. When we are going through pain, it feels like God is being cruel to us us by demanding that we believe we have healing while we are still in pain, or that He is asking us to worship Him while He seems so far away.
But the truth is actually backwards. Faith comes from believing deep down who God is, and when we know that in our hearts, we want to worship God who is our healer, He is the creator, He does sustain and protect us, He does give us grace for today, hope for tomorrow, and assurance for eternity. When we truly know who He is, then we have to acknowledge Him in worship. That doesn’t mean pretending that we aren’t in pain.
We enter into God’s healing presence when we worship and find what we need all along.
If you’re hurting right now, if you feel alone and forsaken, put on some healing worship music, and start acknowledging God for who He is and what He’s already done for you.
